I am so excited to announce that I am part of a new group of artist/teachers who have come together to teach workshops, exhibit and work together as a creative group. My lovely friends agreed to become part of my crazy idea of teaching, working and exhibiting together just after this years Open Studio Event in the Summer. To my surprise they all thought it was a brilliant idea and so here we are! Five at the Hive.

Having met at Open Studio events we all became firm friends, all with skills in very different genre’s of work. Some of the skills we have between us include, free machine embroidery, knitting and crochet, mono printing, journal making, sketchbook skills, spinning and hand embroidery.
After meeting for coffee, all shouting over ourselves to show and tell, I came up with the mad idea of a two day workshop where we all teach a class. To my astonishment they all are as nuts as I am and we had our first two day work shop at the end of September.
On offer was Junk Journal Construction, Free Machine Embroidery and Hand Embroidery. When the end of the weekend arrived we were being asked what we going to be doing next?
NEXT? We had only thought as far ahead as this event!!!! We never thought we would be in demand for another so quickly. When we suggested March next year, hands flew up in the air and so we agreed to fit a weekend in at the end of November, huzzah!!! Sign ups were busily added to lists and ladies and girls left with big smiles on their faces after having had such a lovely creative time together!
We are now beavering away at what we will be offering in November, thanks to the brilliant support and enthusiasm of our first teaching venture!
